COUNSELLING & PASTORAL CARE

Rabbi Lieberman is available to provide counselling and assistance to members with any religious enquiries or personal matters they may wish to discuss.
 

TEFILLAH SERVICES

We conduct the full range of daily services every day of the year.  Morning, afternoon and evening services (Shacharit, Mincha and Ma’ariv) are held every day in the shule.

SECTION INDICATORS
To help congregants follow the services, the PHC have a specially developed system that guides one through the service. Section indicators are used on Yom Tov with section tables available for each different machzor. There are also section tables available for weekday and Shabbat services.

MEMBER SERVICES
Call-Ups

An Aliyah (call-up to the Torah) is a nice way to mark special occasions in your family.  To arrange an Aliyah, email Rabbi Lieberman rabbi@thephc.com.au.


CHOIR

A group of dedicated men have formed the PHC choir which supports the services on Shabbat and chaggim.  To join the choir please contact Choir Master, Michael Wainstein on wainstein@optusnet.com.au

YAHRZEIT INFORMATION

Members are notified personally by email two weeks before the yahrzeit date of a loved one so that they can commemorate this appropriately.  In addition, yahrzeits observed by members are displayed on the electronic yahrzeit board in the week of the yahrzeit and are commemorated in shule on Shabbat. Members are also invited for an Aliyah to commemorate the yahrzeit of a loved one.

SEATING
Members have a reserved, dedicated seat for Pesach and Yamim Noraim in a preferred position.

MIKVAH

The Perth Mikvah is situated in the PHC grounds. For enquiries and to make a booking, please see the mikvah schedule on the PHC website www.thephc.com.au or follow the Perth Mikvah page on Facebook. The outdoor toiveling mikvah is available 24/7.

EMPOWER MEMBERSHIP

EmPower membership for up to 3 children is free when both parents are PHC members.

ADULT EDUCATION

PHC provides a full range of educational programs free of charge for members of all ages. There are shiurim (classes), at various levels of sophistication, on Tuesday and Thursday evenings and Shabbat morning. In addition, there are shiur series run ever 2-4 months focusing on different themes and learning topics. Please see the PHC website for session titles and times. We also regularly host guest speakers to enrich our members spiritually and inspirationally.
 

IGERET
The shule distributes a weekly newsletter to all its members filled with news, shiurim, service times and shule events.  If you are not already on the Igeret mailing list, please subscribe here.

FUNCTIONS & EVENTS

The PHC hosts many functions and events throughout the year. Attendance for PHC members is either complimentary or if charged, ticket fees are highly subsidised.

WOMEN'S EVENTS

Shiurim and functions are conducted specifically for women in the congregation at no charge. They include the weekly Women’s Discussion Group with Rabbi Lieberman and Ladies Nights and shiurim before major chaggim.  Of course, women are encouraged and welcome to attend all the regular shiurim and activities that are conducted at the shule throughout the year.

LIBRARY

The Leila Hoffman Perth Torah Education Centre Library is located in the shule. It is a Judaica library that primarily supports the PHC educational programs. In addition, it also includes books that appeal to a wide range of interests, and provides professional lending and information services free of charge to members.

The library is open weekdays between 9am and 3pm or online 24/7 with click and collect or free postage options for members.

PHC GIFT & BOOK SHOP

The shop stocks a wide range of Jewish books, greeting cards, kippot, kiddush cups, mezzuzot and other Judaica items for personal use or gifts. PHC members are entitled to flash sales discounts on purchases twice per year (excl books).
